My Mother's Afternoons (The Peoples Supreme Court) 2008 10 Lambda Prints
My Mother’s Afternoons (The People Supreme Court) is an extension of an ongoing collaboration, initiated thirteen years ago, entitled My Mother’s Afternoons. Where as My Mother’s Afternoon’s depicts a cross section of daytime television, The People’s Supreme Court focuses on “reality courtroom” programs, specifically the judges that preside over them. The project is a humorous critique on the state of contemporary media and the vernacular portrayl, as well as the day-to-day experience of the American legal system. The work consists of a series of photographic portraits, taken directly off of the tv screen. |
