Face Off 1996, Slide Installation Behind You is a series of 40 slides, projected life sized on to a screen. The images are a documentation of a "performance" Berchem did, one at a time, with each of his collaborators. He stands, facing each person, only about 20 centimeters away. While they remain in place, he gradually leans into them. The camera catches both Berchem's and the other person's reaction. |
